Build a mounting base that matches your profile instead of adapting your project to a fixed-size socket. This model creates a round, rectangular or triangular socket with a closed bottom flange. Optional flange holes let you screw the base onto a suitable supporting surface. One useful application is a lightweight display stand: the wooden upright fits into the socket, while the flange attaches to a separate base board.
