display rc motor propeller nitro mechanical model scale educational engineering engine piston printable cutaway os

Beskrivelse

Bring classic RC aviation engineering to your desk! This model is a 1:1 full-scale, manually operational replica of the iconic O.S. .60 RC nitro engine. Designed specifically for smooth mechanical interaction, turning the propeller or crankshaft drives the entire internal linkage—giving a hands-on look at two-stroke internal combustion in action. Whether you are an RC aviation enthusiast, an engineering hobbyist, or looking for an engaging educational desktop demonstrator, this print delivers both high scale detail and satisfying mechanical movement. - 1:1 Scale Fidelity: Faithfully captures the exterior casing, cooling fins, carburetor port, and tuned-pipe style exhaust. - Functional Assembly Internals: Includes the piston, wrist pin, connecting rod, crankshaft, sleeve assembly, and bearings. Spin the prop to watch the realistic piston stroke. - Two Versions Included: - Intact Version: Complete engine casing for a ultra-realistic scale display. - Cutaway View: Pre-cut sections on the block, sleeve, and cylinder head—perfect for multi-color prints to showcase internal mechanics. Dimensions - Engine Height: 99 mm / 3.9” (to top of cylinder head) 109.655 mm / 4.313” 9 (to tip of glow plug) - Engine Width: 62.45 mm / 2.458” (engine body) / ~97.5 mm / 3.839” total profile width - Length: 76.5 mm / 3.012” (crankcase body) / ~102.04 mm / 4.017” total length (front shaft to backplate) - Total Profile Length: ~160.373 mm / 6.314” total length (tip of nose cone to back of muffler) - Prop Length: 240 mm / 9.45“ - Base Stand Height: 25.4 mm / 1” Hardware Required - Cylinder Head: (6) 3mm X 14mm socket head bolts - Engine Block: (8) 2.5mm X 10mm socket head bolts - Muffler: (2) 3mm X 30mm socket head bolts - Mounting: (4) 3mm X 10-18mm socket head bolts - Assembly Note: - Threaded holes are intentionally sized for hardware self-tapping—simply drive your bolts directly into the printed plastic during initial assembly. - The cylinder head port requires tapping to thread in your glow plug. Print Settings - Material: PLA for crisp tolerances and cooling fins; PETG optional for high-wear internal joints (piston_rod, piston_pin, bearings). - Layer Height: - 0.12mm for detailed or mechanical parts (head, block, piston, sleeve, bearings). - 0.16mm – 0.20mm for outer/large structural components (stand, muffler, prop). - Wall Loops / Perimeters: 4+ (crucial for structural strength around bolt holes, thin walls, and pin joints) - Infill: 20% + (Gyroid recommended for uniform multi-directional strength). - Brim: Use a brim on the small piston assembly parts. - Supports: Required for crankcase overhangs, exhaust port, and cooling fins. Use Support Blockers as needed inside small internal screw holes and pin bores to keep them clean. - Assembly & Fit Tip: For smooth operation, lightly sand moving surfaces (piston_sleeve, piston_pin) and apply a dab of synthetic lubricant or lithium grease during assembly. Orientation & Support Details - No Supports Required: - Glow Plug & Stand: Print in original position. - Piston: Invert 180° (top face flat on bed). - Piston Pin & Sleeves: Rotate 90° flat on bed. (Note: Print 2x Piston Sleeves) . - Muffler Cut Halves: Rotate 90° with cut face flat on bed. - Cone: Rotate 90° with tip pointing up. - Supports Required: - Engine Block & Head: Print in original position with supports. - Sleeve: Invert 180° (top face flat on bed). - Shaft Housing & Block Cap: Rotate 90° (mounting plate flat on bed) with supports. - Piston Rod: Rotate 90° on side with supports. - Muffler: Rotate 90° (mounting flange flat on bed) with supports under the body end. (If bridging issues occur, support the inner flange using Support Blockers inside the bolt holes and interior bore) . - Prop Shaft: Print in original position with supports. (Use Support Blockers on the interior bore) . - Propeller: Rotate 90° (back side flat on bed). Rotate 45° diagonally across the bed if needed to fit build area.
