Inspired by the marble heroes of antiquity, this version 2 of Hercules bust carries the demigod's heavy curls and weathered stare, then offers to vase. The crown of the head opens into a hollow cavity that runs down through the chest, turning the sculpture into a vessel for flowers, brushes, or the tools that live on your desk. Classical presence and everyday function in the same object. Design & Concept I designed this piece to let the sculpture and the container be the same thing. The bust keeps the broken shoulder line and the fractured crown of an excavated fragment, so the opening reads as archaeology rather than as a hole cut into a statue. Inside, the cavity is deep and generous, enough for a bunch of flowers or a full handful of pens and brushes. The bust stands on a wide circular plate that lifts it off the surface and gives it the stance of a museum pedestal on a desk or a shelf. Hollow Interior: The cavity runs from the open crown down into the chest, so tall stems and long brushes sit deep and stay upright.
