Inspired by the traditional Japanese woodworking technique known as Kumiko, I wanted to merge its intricate beauty with the art of lighting. I am keen to design more lighting creations in the future, please following my page for updates and insights into upcoming designs. Kumiko, a traditional Japanese woodworking technique, serves as a profound source of inspiration for artisans and designers worldwide. Rooted in centuries-old craftsmanship, Kumiko involves meticulously assembling small wooden pieces to form intricate geometric patterns, creating visually stunning and structurally sound works of art. This technique, characterized by its precision and attention to detail, embodies the essence of Japanese aesthetics and cultural heritage. Beyond its inherent beauty, Kumiko holds deeper significance, symbolizing patience, perseverance, and a deep connection to nature. The Kumiko lamp incorporates the Bambu Lab LED Kit 001. The lamp's base discreetly houses a compartment for the LED kit. The installation process is straightforward, insert the LED into the base and rotate the locking cap into place the design does not require glue or fixings I have Small, Medium and large versions on my page. The Small and Medium also have A1 mini print profiles. Its easy to print base in colours the suit your style and easy to swap the shade out in the future. The lamp has been designed without the need for support structures. Print profile Kumiko Shade and base - Has the the kumiko pattern and the base to hold the LED kit Print Profile Shade vase mode - Has the internal shade that must be printed in vase mode to work.
