Beskrivelse

This is a very small, very strong keyring for use with 3d printed keychains, keys, or fobs. It is shockingly strong for it's size because it uses geometry to it's advantage. Most 3d printed keyrings published online are circular, which does not work well when scaled to smaller sizes as they fatigue and slowly open up allowing whatever is attached to eventually slip out. The diamond split ring shape of this design features an acute angle at either end, keeping other rings or items seated which tends to keep the split ring centered in it's position as opposed to continually opening it. Opposing forces both open and close the split ring at the same time and failure only occurs when the pulling force is substantial enough to completely deform the PLA as opposed to slight fatigue stresses. Once printed, separate the split ring with a small twist as shown in the GIF. Benefits of this design enable it to be printed very small for use with smaller keychains or keys with smaller holes. I have not tested with PETG and believe that PLA should be a preferable material, or any other filament with less compliance (the structure needs rigidity instead of compliance). This file is made for a smooth bed and the first layer is slowed way down to 25%. If desired, a textured PEI plate can be used and the speed of the first layer increased. This is uploaded with a commercial license so you can sell it freely with any of your keychain creations.
