Beskrivelse

Bicycle Brake Rotor Clock Version 2, Case Attached and compatible with IKEA Tromma Purpose Designed to turn used, worn rotors from the local bike co-op into a useful, eye-catching piece for your home/workshop. This Bicycle Brake Rotor Clock is designed specifically around the cheap and accessible IKEA Tromma, allowing you to create a functioning brake-rotor clock for less than $4 (or however much the Tromma costs in your country, and assuming you obtained the rotor for free). The Clips hold the clock case to the Plate, and the Sides help keep them in place, all the while the Plate is attached to a rotor of your choice with 6 low-profile Pins. The stand holds the finished clock at a slight angle, allowing it to be viewed whether you put it on top of your desk, or high on a shelf. The rotor pictured is the same Avid 185mm rotor as in V1, chosen for its 12 arms. I've yet to test this with standard clock mechanisms (outside of the Tromma); the dimensions might actually fit most types of quartz wall clock mechanisms, which implies that the design is universal, though your mileage may vary This is developed from V1, which attaches to a clock case with a threaded stem. Details Designed using Autodesk Inventor Sliced using Creality Print 7.0 Printed with 1.75mm eSun ePLA+HiSpeed in black, costs around 12.6g, without supports necessary Notes - 9th September 2026 - Due to the nature of the clip attachment system, the clock case will rest at an angle relative to the rotor arms (if you choose to get a 12-armed rotor like me to represent the clock numbers), so when you put the clock hands together, make sure that you start off with both the hour and minute hand at your desired 12 o'clock position relative to the rotor and NOT the clock case, only then should you adjust the time. Print the plate with the slots facing up to avoid needing supports. The main purpose of the V2 was to provide a more accessible, cheaper way to build a disc-rotor clock, and I found that the cheapest quartz clock mechanism was the IKEA Tromma. That being said, I still strongly encourage you to reuse a used/broken clock face, if possible, to minimise consumption, or find a creative solution for the leftover clock's plastic face and cover from the Tromma.
