Beskrivelse
Easy print (less than 2h). Looks good, works well. this is an evolution of my https://www.printables.com/model/1752776-quick-clamp (which works very well with PETG but less well with PLA.) In this version i have made many changes so that it works well with PLA. And I have replaced the M6x40 screw with a PLA cam, so now it is 100% printed, no hardware needed. The parts are designed to bear with the strong force applied when using the clamp, without breaking or aging. When the PLA bends after some time, you will bite in the next click step and the clamp will still work as before (maybe even better actually, i have noticed). I have printed a bunch of them and some have been clamped for several weeks now and still work perfectly. How to use it: see the pictures, apply steps 1 to 4. If the grip is not strong enough, just open the trigger back, press for 1 more ‘click’ (step 3) and close the trigger. The grip should be VERY strong. The trigger has an excentric shape that will press firmly the bottom jaw to the board. A thin lip is on the bottom jaw to 1/ help the trigger slip and 2/ protect the board surface. PRINTING : Works fine with PLA. PETG should work too. The trigger should use a material that slips well, so the closing will be easier. Slice in strong profile: 6 walls, 25% infill. Use supports and print in the provided orientation (for robustness). ASSEMBLY: 1/ the mobile jaw . When inserting the mobile jaw, you will have to press firmly to pass through the bottom bump (the bottom bump avoids the jaw to fall out when moving freely). 2/ the trigger. Make sure you put the trigger in the right orientation and assemble with the printed cam. The lip will have to break loose on the opening side during this operation, this is normal The cam should slip rather easily in the holed jaw and the trigger, and stop when partially inside the other jaw. Use plyers to force the cam into the other jaw. It will not be possible to disassemble it afterwards. Happy printing! And as always: PLEASE download, like, comment, post your makes. It is a real pleasure to see your prints!
