I breathed solder smoke for about a year — turning my head, holding my breath, opening the window in winter. Took one evening to fix it. The whole thing runs on one ~$1.50 board that does four jobs at once: charges the 18650, protects it, boosts to 5 V, and switches the fan. No microcontroller, no code, no USB tether. About $9.50 in parts and roughly 7 hours per charge. The case needs no screws — print the parts, push them together, close the lid from the top. Printed on a Bambu Lab A1, PLA, ~150 g total. 0.2 mm layer, 2 walls, 15% infill, no supports anywhere. The grilles print flat; keep the brim if your first layer is unsure. There are two carrier variants — pick the one matching whether your UPS board has a battery box.
