Rather than being built as a solid mass, this sculptural object is composed of a succession of vertical layers that fragment the volume into rhythmic slices, revealing depth, structure, and visual tension through repetition. In this version, the layered approach becomes more organic and expressive. The skull feels less mechanical and more alive: curves flow into one another, volumes pulse, and the silhouette gains a strong sense of movement and personality, transforming the piece into a striking design object and collectible skull statue. Each slice acts like a contour line on a topographic map, turning the skull into a tactile landscape of shadows and light. The overlapping layers create a strong visual vibration: as the viewing angle changes, new patterns, depths, and contrasts emerge, giving the sculpture a dynamic presence that rewards slow observation. Technical Guidelines To assemble the two parts of the skull, use the alignment cylinders to help position both halves correctly. Once aligned, apply a amount of strong glue to one of the internal plates on one half of the skull, then bring the two parts together gently to ensure a secure and durable bond. Layer Height: 0.20 mm Perimeters (Walls): 2–3 Infill: 10–20% (increase if additional rigidity is desired) Top/Bottom Layers: 4 Supports: Use the provided orientations — Bambu Studio and included profiles handle them efficiently Material: Bambu Lab Matte PLA Temperatures: Default profile values recommended (adjust slightly if needed for your filament) Assembly & Handling Recommendations When removing the skull from the build plate, lift it carefully. Although the layers are firmly bonded, the thin vertical plates are intentionally delicate and should be handled with attention. During assembly, always support the layered surfaces with a flat hand placed perpendicular to the layers. This prevents localized stress and preserves the clean alignment of the slices. Once the connector pins are aligned, apply a small amount of strong glue to the main central rod. Join the two halves firmly, but without excessive pressure, to avoid compressing or deforming the layered structure.
