The Design The Mini Suspended filament Vortex is here! 50mm Diameter - 20-25 min print time. “Why? Can't i just scale the larger one?! ” Well, it's not quite as simple as that . Because each filament is modelled individually, scaling causes the lines to become smaller than the minimum extruded size. This can cause two issues, either the lines simply don't appear on the scaled model, or they are there but fail far too easily. So yes this had to be completely modelled again! This is a fun little desk piece. Let me know if you experience any issues. Printing Slice with the Arachne wall generator. ensure layer thickness is at 0.2mm, no support required Once printed let the build plate cool. The base is very fragile - take extra care when remove from the build bed. Occasionally a filmament line may fail. I recommend carefully plucking it out - it won't affect the overall look. My Work After many years in Engineering, I've just decided to try and follow my childhood dream of becoming of a Creative Designer. A Creative Designer of what? No idea! Right now I really like puzzles, mechanisms and kinetic sculptures so that's where I'm going to focus my efforts.
