Beskrivelse

This reduction gearbox demonstrates the efficiency of worm gears as a way to obtain a large reduction in rotation in a compact space with few moving parts. Each drive gear has 100 teeth. One rotation of the worm gear advances the drive gear by 1 tooth. It takes 100 rotations of the handle to get the first gear to rotate 1 time for a 100:1 ratio. The same ratio is repeated two more times. 100 x 100 x 100 = 1,000,000. It would take a million turns on the handle to get the final gear to rotate 1 complete turn! There is an optional name plate that can be left off so that students can be tasked with calculating the gear ratio. This can be used as a demonstration model, as an instruction tool, or as a conversation piece. There is a scale on the last gear to help detect movement. The self tapping screws are optional. The frame can also be glued together. It is formatted to fit on any Bambu printer, including the A1 Mini. Assembly Video: Boost Me (for free) If you like my models, please give them a boost!
