I am proud to offer a custom astromech droid kit that is compatible with the CyberBrick kit. Please be aware that there is a lot of pieces to this kit. It is best to view it as model that will take a little bit to assemble. I did this to offer better color choices and to make print failures less of an issue with filament usage. I printed the dome and many components in silk pla with great results. The body and legs are shorter but this was done for easier printing and better stability. I have rounded and simplified many surfaces to give a “cuter” appearance for the size. This also allows faster better printing due to less sharp changes in print direction. It currently can move about and rotate its head 180 degrees both directions. There are led lights in the dome. Please see included pdf for assembly instructions. I have tried to keep to only the parts in the Cyberbrick kit but there some extra parts that will be needed: ball bearing ring for the dome rotation, 12mm balls for omnidirectional movement of center foot, wire extension for motors in feet, and a coupler for that wire. All screws required are already in the cyberbrick kit. There are holes on the side feet that are intended for tubing/wiring. They are sized for standard filament. Copper wire could also be used. The dome is a separate profile to make it more clear that the body can be swapped with different heads. Hope to have some other choices soon. I have added a 3mf file of an assembled droid. Use it to test out color combos instead of guessing how it will look. Look for file “Full Body Color Testing DO NOT PRINT.3mf” under the download option and open in Bambu studio.
