These models of a Virginia opossum ( Didelphis virginiana ) cranium and mandible were originally made available on Sketchfab by Oregon State University under CCA license . My changes to the original model: The models were very high resolution photogrammetry models, so I decimated them, closed any holes, applied smoothing where needed and thickened areas that were too thin to print. Print Settings: - 0.12 mm layers - 3 walls, 10% gyroid infill - tree supports: - 20 degrees for the cranium and 35 degrees for the mandible (you can see this difference in the per object settings) - top z distance = 0.2 - top interface layers = 2 - top interface spacing = 0 - tip diameter = 2 I tried the mandible in a couple of different orientations and liked this one better (back on the condyles). The orientations I selected keep all the teeth intact with high detail. Supports are easier to remove with matte PLA. For my photos, I used eSun bone white PLA+ and Sunlu matte bone white PLA. Note that I am using a cool plate, so you might need to switch the plate in the print profile. I have uploaded a generic 3mf as well as the STL models in the correct printing orientation.
