I designed this case as a way to use the Framework Laptop 12 Mainboard as a standalone computer instead of inside the laptop. I wanted the enclosure to be more interesting than a normal rectangular PC case, so I based the design on a 3.5-inch floppy disk. The overall shape and details are meant to make it immediately recognizable as a floppy disk, just scaled up enough to fit the Mainboard and its cooling system. I tried to keep the design fairly simple while still making sure the important parts of the board stay usable. The USB-C ports are accessible from the outside of the case, the power button can still be reached with everything assembled, and the ventilation is positioned so the original cooling system can work without being blocked. The finished computer could be used as a small desktop, media PC, home server, workshop computer, or just as a fun standalone PC.
