Inspired by the air-cooled icons of the eighties, this Porsche Incense Burner parks a classic convertible on your desk and lets it breathe. Light an incense cone in the passenger seat and the smoke travels through the hollow shell and out of the tailpipe, the way an old engine clears its throat on a cold morning. Three printed parts, no glue-heavy assembly, and two separate 3MF files: a faceted Low Poly build and a fully sculpted High Poly build. Design & Concept I designed this piece around a single image: the first puff from an exhaust when a cold engine finally catches. The shell is hollow, and the whole interior works as a chimney that gathers the smoke from the cone and pushes it out through the rear pipe, so the object animates itself instead of just sitting there. The cone rides in the passenger seat, visible through the open cabin, which turns a functional requirement into part of the scene. Rather than compromise between two looks, I built the car twice. The Low Poly version reduces the profile to flat planes and hard edges that catch light like cut stone, while the High Poly version keeps the round fenders, the recessed headlights, and the folded seats of the open cabin. Key Features: Smoke Through The Tailpipe: The body works as a chimney. The cone burns inside and the smoke leaves through the rear pipe, so the car appears to idle on your desk. Faceted Geometry: The Low Poly build reduces the silhouette to flat planes and hard edges, a graphic object that reads beautifully in matte black. It ships as its own 3MF. Sculpted Detail: The High Poly build keeps the round fenders, recessed headlights, folded seats, and open cabin of the original profile. It ships as its own 3MF. Three Printed Parts: The body, the steering wheel, and the front license plate. Everything you see is printed, nothing else to source. Laser-Ready Plate: The license plate prints in white so it stands out against the matte bodywork and takes laser engraving if you want to add a name, a date, or your own studio mark. Cone In The Passenger Seat: The incense cone sits in the passenger seat, on a heat-insulating washer that separates it from the printed part. Quiet Companion: A parked car that only moves when the smoke does, at home on a desk, a shelf, or a console table. Hardware Required: Heat-Insulating Washers: Required on every use. One washer sits between the incense cone and the printed part. Choose a washer wide enough to cover the full base of the cone you burn. Incense Cones: Not included. Use standard incense cones. Glue: A small amount is recommended to secure the steering wheel and the license plate once they are seated. Safety Note Always place a heat-insulating washer between the incense cone and the printed part. A burning cone resting directly on plastic will soften, deform, scorch, or damage the model. I accept no responsibility for any damage, deformation, or injury resulting from use without the heat-insulating washers. Burn the cone on a stable, heat-resistant surface and never leave it unattended. Printing Recommendations: Body (Low Poly and High Poly): Material: Matte PLA. Black reproduces the Low Poly build shown in the photos, slate grey the High Poly build. Nozzle: 0.4mm. Layer Height: 0.2mm. Walls / Perimeters: 2 to 3. Infill: 12%, Grid pattern. Supports: Required. Enable supports and set them to build plate only, so the bodywork and the cabin stay free of support scars. Brim: Optional, for adhesion. Steering Wheel: Material: Matte PLA, same color as the body. Nozzle: 0.4mm. Layer Height: 0.2mm. Walls / Perimeters: 2 to 3. Infill: 12%, Grid pattern. License Plate: Material: Matte PLA in white. The plate is designed to print white so it reads against the dark bodywork and takes laser engraving cleanly. Nozzle: 0.4mm. Layer Height: 0.2mm. Walls / Perimeters: 2 to 3.
