Boost 🧵 Bambu Lab Spool Filament Clip I was always looking for the perfect spool filament clip, but most designs I tried had issues: they interfered with the AMS, came off, broke, were hard to align, or eventually became loose. So I designed my own. This clip is made specifically for Bambu Lab spools only and is tuned for a secure, reliable fit. Compatible with AMS and AMS 2 Pro Does not interfere with spool movement Allows the spool to roll freely Uses 5 alignment points to lock securely in place It won't come off after use or after drying cycles Tight tolerances tuned for PETG, ABS, ASA and PC Designed to be durable and long-lasting (read notes below) Prints in under 5 minutes Uses less than 0.5 g of filament Small, quick, and practical — print a few and keep them around. ⚙️ Installation ⚠️‼️ Please follow these instructions carefully. The top pins (x2) may look fully inserted when they are not. Use firm pressure to make sure they match the picture. Start by inserting the three bottom alignment points into position, making sure they sit flush against the spool. With these seated, push one of the top pins fully into its hole, then push the second top pin into place. Pro tip: Lightly press the top pins (x2) with pliers to ensure they go fully in and do not come loose. You should hear a satisfying snap when they fit into place. ⚠️‼️ Watch installation video below: 🖨️ Printing Notes Recommended material: PETG (or ABS/ASA/PC if your spools support it) No supports required. FOR ORIGINAL BAMBU LAB SPOOL (THIS MODEL) FOR THE REPLICA OF THE BAMBU LAB SPOOL FOR ORIGINAL BAMBU LAB SPOOL (SNAP-ON Version) ⚠️ A quick note about materials and heat ⚠️ Please remember that these clips are small, home 3D printed plastic parts. Different filaments have very different temperature limits, and repeated exposure to heat will eventually affect any plastic. Choose the material according to how you plan to use the clip. For frequent or higher temperature drying, use a more heat resistant filament such as ABS, ASA, or PC rather than PLA or PETG. Like many things we use every day, 3D printed parts also need a little maintenance. Check your clips from time to time for deformation, cracking, weakening, or excessive wear, and replace them when needed. There is nothing complicated or scary about this, just use the clips with common sense and discretion, understand the material you printed them with, and remember that no 3D printed plastic part is expected to last forever. 😊 Please note: @tamasd has brought to my attention, thank you!, that some spools in certain regions may have slight deviations from the standard. This seems to be very rare and unusual, but in this scenario the 5 point alignment system may not function correctly. The issue is that these spools have an uneven, almost blocked hole where the middle bottom plug connects. The solution is to carefully trim that area with a cutter or clippers (Pro tip: or add a negative part in the slicer before printing). This will leave you with 4 alignment points out of the original 5, which should still provide very good alignment. Membership Love my models?
