XL Bare Female Alien
Beskrivelse
XL Bare Female Alien XL and Not So XL Bare Female Alien Instructions. Some Basics Glue is required for the final build. I always recommend completing a dry build first so you can familiarise yourself with where all the parts go and check the fit before applying any glue. Some parts will not stay securely in position without glue. The XL and Not So XL Bare Female Aliens are essentially the same model, but the connector tolerances have been adjusted to suit their different sizes. Both versions have also been pre-scaled to suit their intended build plates for ease of printing. You can scale the models further if you would like them larger or smaller. If scaling the model smaller, you may need to reduce the connectors by an additional 1–2% to maintain a suitable fit. Recommended Materials For indoor use, PLA is suitable. If you intend to display the Alien outside, I recommend printing it in PETG. For particularly hot climates, you may want to consider ABS or ASA. Connector Types The model uses two different connector types: * Square connectors for attaching the Alien to the base. * Round connectors for assembling the main Alien model. Whenever I refer to left and right in these instructions, this is from the Alien's perspective, rather than your perspective when looking at the Alien. Filaments Used The following filaments were used for the example model: * Bambu Basic Blue/Grey * Overture Blue/Grey * Bambu Black * Bambu White * Bambu Desert Tan * Transparent PLA Purple * ZIRO Colourful Mist * ZIRO Tri-Colour Rainbow Supports Supports are required for some parts of the model and are already enabled in the 3MF files. I recommend setting the Top Z Distance to 0.275 mm for easier support removal. Please make sure that all support material is completely removed from the connector holes before assembly. Even a small amount of support material left inside a hole can make the connector feel much tighter than intended. Connector Tolerances If you find that some connectors are too tight, particularly in areas that have been supported, you can reduce the connector size by approximately 1–2%. There are many variables that can affect tolerances, including: * Printer * Printer calibration * Filament type * Print settings I aim for a happy medium with the connector tolerances so they should work well for most printers, but small adjustments may occasionally be required. Before Starting the Build Please make sure you are familiar with the names of all the individual parts before beginning assembly. Because the Alien's feet are fairly large, the completed base would be too big to print as a single piece on the intended build plate. The base has therefore been split into two sections. The Alien can stand without the base, so using the base is optional. The Alien's eyes are supplied as a single multi-colour part. The Build 1. Assemble the Base Start with the two base sections. Join the two sections together using the three base connectors. Insert the two foot connectors into the base, ready for attaching the Alien. 2. Attach the Feet Take the left and right feet and position them onto the corresponding connectors in the base. 3. Assemble the Legs Use one connector for each leg to attach the lower leg to the upper leg. Insert two connectors into the tops of the upper legs, ready to attach the upper body. 4. Attach the Upper Body Carefully position the upper body onto the two connectors in the upper legs and press it into place. 5. Attach the Head Insert two connectors into the top of the upper body, ready to attach the head. Carefully position the head onto the connectors and press it into place. 6. Assemble the Arms Insert two connectors on either side of the upper body and attach the upper arms. Use one connector on each arm to attach the lower arms with hands. 7. Insert the Eyes Carefully slot the multi-colour eye piece into the head. 8. Assemble the Flower Attach the flower to the flower stalk, then insert the stalk into the round hole provided in the base. Tip: If you would like to shape the flower petals, very gently and gradually warm the flower before carefully bending them into position. Avoid overheating the part. 9. Add the Crystal Finally, insert the crystal piece into the corresponding slot in the base. Build Complete Congratulations, you have completed your Bare Female Alien.
