Built out of pure necessity, these heavy-duty screw-in sand pegs were designed to withstand the brutal realities of off-grid wild beach camping. When you are exposed to relentless 70–80 km/h winds, standard tent stakes just won't cut it. These aggressive, deep-threaded spiral anchors bite hard into loose ground to keep your shelter, tarp, or beach umbrella firmly rooted. Smart, Optimized 3D Print Design As a maker and avid camper, I designed these pegs from scratch to solve two major problems: weak ground holding and wasteful printing. The geometry has been carefully tuned for the 3D printing process: Zero Supports: Engineered to print completely support-free, saving post-processing time. Fast & Efficient: Optimized design drastically cuts down on print time and filament waste without sacrificing structural integrity or toughness. 3 Included Models & Sizes To ensure you have the perfect anchor for any beach topography, the package includes 3 distinct variations: 1x Medium Size: Great for compact packing, firmer damp sand, and standard setups. 1x XL Standard: Extended length for deep penetration into shifting, loose sand to provide massive pull resistance. 1x XL Wide-Thread: Features a significantly wider screw thread configuration. This is engineered specifically for extra strength and maximum surface area bite if you are dealing with ultra-fine, super dry, or powdery sand. 1x XXL Ultra Wide-Thread (19mm Hex): A beefed-up, heavy-duty version featuring our widest thread yet and a robust 19mm hex head for maximum torque and strength. (Note: Untested, feedback welcome!) Print Settings & Material Recommendations ⚠️ For Best Results: Print with high infill (minimum 40-50%) and at least 4-5 perimeters/walls to ensure maximum torsional strength when screwing them into the ground. ASA (Highly Recommended): If your stakes are going to sit in the blistering direct sun all day, ASA is the top choice. It offers excellent UV resistance and high thermal stability, ensuring the pegs won't soften, warp, or deform under intense beach heat. PETG (Budget/Alternative Option): PETG works perfectly fine with a simple trick! If you use PETG, dig a hole in the sand until you reach the damp, harder layer, screw the pegs in there, and then bury them back up with sand. As long as they are buried away from direct sunlight, PETG will stay cool enough to maintain its strength and hold your gear secure. Pro-Tip for Maximum Hold in Loose Sand: To get the absolute best anchorage on windy beaches, don't just screw them into the dry, powdery top layer. Dig a small hole until you reach the dense, wet sand underneath. Screw the anchor directly into that wet layer so the wide threads can lock into the compacted sand. If the sand is completely dry or you can't dig deep enough, pour a bottle of sea water over the area after screwing it in to tighten and pack the sand around the threads. Fill the hole back up and stomp it down! Update: New Model Added! (4. XXL Ultra Wide-Thread with 19mm hex) By popular demand, I’ve added a beefed-up version featuring an ultra-wide thread and a 19mm hex head for extra strength. Note: I haven't been able to test-print or field-test this specific version yet, my driver is currently acting up, and the nearest beach is 300 km away.
