Spool in Disguise Hidden storage for an empty ELEGOO reusable spool. What happens when a filament spool runs out — but the spool itself is still useful? Spool in Disguise transforms an empty ELEGOO reusable spool into a concealed three-compartment storage container. The original spool remains almost completely unchanged. Its body, side plates and twist-lock mechanism are all reused. I designed a single internal insert that turns the empty space into three practical compartments. The outside keeps the appearance of a real refill, including a printed 1.75 mm filament winding that blends into the original spool. Open it, and the hidden storage is revealed. Simple by design No magnets. No screws. No bearings. No extra hardware. Just one printed insert working with the original ELEGOO reusable spool. The three compartments can hold small personal items, maker accessories, spare parts, keys, earphones, watches and more. Print information - Base: ELEGOO reusable spool - Printed parts: 1 - Compartments: 3 - Material: ~200 g - Hardware: None - Assembly: Drop the insert into the empty spool and close it using the original locking mechanism. Keep the spool. Reuse the space.
