The Centauri Carbon 2 is a great, extremely capable printer, but one of the biggest complaints I hear from fellow owners is that the Top Cover is, well… not exactly the most attractive part of the printer. And beyond keeping the dust out, it doesn’t really do much else. So I thought, why not take the “worst part” of the printer and make it actually functional—and waaay more sexy? 😁 That’s how the Centauri EXO came about. The Centauri EXO is an exoskeleton that fits over the existing Top Cover, giving it a much cleaner look while adding a whole new level of functionality. Instead of being just a cover, it becomes a platform for mounting useful accessories and making the most of the space above your printer. The accessory mounting system opens up all kinds of possibilities, and I’ve included a few accessories to get you started. I also added a front sign mount , so you can personalize your printer with a custom sign, nameplate, or whatever else you can imagine—as long as it can be held up by three 8×3 mm magnets. 😁 Anyway, I hope you guys and gals like this one! I had a lot of fun making it, and I’m looking forward to seeing what you come up with for it. P.S. I took inspiration for the accessory mounting system from the BLV - AMS 2 Riser over on MakerWorld. You can check it out here . I designed the mounting system to the same specifications because there are already tons of pre-designed accessories available for that system that are ready to go (like the plate holder in the pics).
