I saw some fantastic art in the above manual for developer Nihon Falcom's 1985 computer game Xanadu, and decided to try turning one of the illustrations into a sculpt. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I -believe- that the artist of the illustration is KOW Yokoyama. All rights of the illustration to him/Falcom, no copyright fouling intended! Just a bit of inspired fanart. No, I don't know why they called it Axebeak, but that's what it says in the manual. You should see what they called an Owlbear! I took some creative liberties with the details, and gave it a more robotic-forward design. I had a good time with it and challenged myself! Is this easy to print, or even very functional as a TTRPG monster? Not really. Sometimes you just have to make things. This will take a lot of supports and clean up if you choose to print it, and that's just how it is. I've attempted to make a version with all the pieces split apart. Sanding, fitting, gluing, and possibly some filling will be needed to finish it. For the sake of completeness I've uploaded 'Left' and 'Right' versions of the 'Shoulders' and Legs, but the smartest thing to do is support one of each in your slicer of choice and then copy and mirror them. I've arbitrarily scaled this to fit a "Large" size TTRPG base (50.4mm / 2 inch round), but feel free to resize it as you wish. Double the size for a proper nice little desk model!
