I took the cassette shell model based off a Maxell cassette out there and modified it to make it "open". I added some wall thickness and removed some "ribs" to make it so it could accept these reels. The reels are from this link and I modified them slightly also, to make them work for my printer: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2735583 All of this was printed with an Elegoo Neptune 3 Pro. Settings for the cassette shell: 0.2mm layers 100% sparse infill density Supports Printed from bottom of the cassette up Settings for reels: 0.08mm layers 100% sparse infill density The base reel is printed with supports. The top is printed without supports Printed from face up If you bend the reels getting them off the plate, reheat your plate and place them on there and press on them to get them nice and flat. They need to be as flat as possible. Also, the "nub" that you use to hold the tape in the reel is just a small 4mm section of raw 1.75mm PLA as shown in the instructions at that other link ( https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2735583 ). You press fit the PLA piece into the reel to lock the tape into the reel, then snip off the excess tape. I added silicone lubricant to the inside of the shell to reduce friction, but there still is some rubbing going on. I have used this tape in a few different tape decks. I have never had an issue playing or recording on it. Fast-forwarding or rewinding has been an issue on SOME decks. There is just a bit of wobble on some decks more than others, so it has slowed down and sped up when fast forwarding or rewinding, and it has even locked up a couple times. Playing and recording though moves the tape at slower speeds and I've never had an issue. So there is a possibility for improving this one somewhat. I think maybe adding the ribs back in at some kind of specific height might help. They were too restrictive so that's why I got rid of them. Maybe just making them smaller (rather than eliminating them) would help reduce the wobble a little.
