***PREMIERE SALE IS ACTIVE!!!*** **Slope Pals – THE ramp walker toys** Welcome to the exciting world of walking creatures! There is nothing hidden inside the models – no batteries, no metal parts – just plastic and simple physics (gravity, balance, inertia, pendulum, friction). All the models have been thoroughly tailored for reliable functionality and easy 3D printing (snap-fit design) without any additional consumables (except for the glue in some cases). To start playing, you will need two things: a walking creature itself – one of the Slope Pals, and something it will walk on – the ramp. There are two kinds of Slope Pals depending on their walking style: those that walk on two legs and those that walk on more than two legs. While the latter ones always have a sufficient base of support thanks to several legs, the former ones are also in need of maintaining balance both when walking and when standing, what looks truly impressive! The ramp can be any inclined (3–5 degrees), non-slip surface or the specially designed fancy ramp, available for free. If you wish to sell prints of Slope Pals, please obtain a commercial license on Patreon: [link](https://www.patreon.com/slopepals) Please, support the creative work of each 3D artist and NEVER share or sell a digital file. **Assembly** Check the parts for print defects and hair – there shouldn't be any, especially in areas that rub against each other, otherwise the Slope Pal won't walk. If there are any, they should be corrected with a knife, sandpaper, engraver, etc., but be very careful not to distort the model's geometry, which is crucial for good performance. The legs simply snap into place so that they point outward relative to the body (no difference between right/left, front/back legs unless stated otherwise). **Usage** You'll need a non-slip surface – the ramp – with a slope of about 3–5 degrees (a kitchen cutting board, a construction wooden board, a tray, a tilted table, etc.). It's impossible to predict which surface will work best in terms of slipping properties – experiment! A universal reference surface that should work equally well all over the world is the white office paper – place the sheet on the chosen inclined surface and launch the Slope Pal. The two-legged Slope Pals perform better on a 3 degree ramp, while the many-legged Slope Pals walk better on a 5 degree ramp. Note, that every modern cell phone has a built-in compass/level app for easily and instantly determining the slope. You can also use the specially designed fancy ramp, available for free. Place the Slope Pal on the ramp, gently tilt to the side and release. Under the correct conditions, the Slope Pal should reach the end of the ramp without stopping and falling. General advice – better play on the floor, as the toy may break If accidentally falls off the table. **Troubleshooting** If the Slope Pal does not perform well, try the following steps. 1. Vary the incline of the ramp – a little bit steeper or, on the contrary, slightly more gradual. 2. Vary the slipping properties of the ramp – different materials, covers, coatings, etc. White office paper should perform equally well all over the world. 3. Try wiggling the legs of the Slope Pal in all possible directions with gentle pressure – this will remove minor print defects and hair. If larger defects are visible, trim or sand them down. 4. Give the Slope Pal a little bit of walking time, try to take the legs out and put them back in a couple of times – the parts will rub in, and minor defects will be smoothed out. 5. Try using PLA plastic of a different color. Plastic of the same type but different color and from different manufacturers can also have different properties due to additives – don’t ask how we know this ;) 6. If all the above steps fail, try applying a light oil to the moving parts. However, this is neither a recommended nor necessary option — we never used oil in our testing of all kinds of the Slope Pals. Let us know if it works good!
