I designed this upgraded hand reel for adult hands, giving it a larger profile and a textured handle that provides a much firmer grip during casting and retrieval. It is a compact, self-contained fishing setup that easily fits into a backpack, pocket, or survival kit. This version features two separate internal containers: one designed specifically to hold hooks and terminal tackle, and another dedicated to live bait like worms or grubs, complete with ventilation holes in the cap to keep your bait fresh. If you prefer to store your primary hook in the spool indents, you gain even more storage space for backup gear and extra tackle. Setting up the reel is straightforward. Thread your fishing line through the top hole of the main spool and tie it around a small bead or object inside the reel cavity. Drawing this anchor knot into the interior leaves the outer spool completely flat for smooth, friction-free casting. Once wound clockwise, secure your hook or swivel over the top indents, tuck your tackle safely inside, and screw down the TopCap to lock everything in place during transport. The modular bobber features a multi-chamber interior built for versatility. One chamber holds small weights or water to increase casting distance, while the other fits a standard balloon-style LED for night fishing or can be left empty for maximum buoyancy. The no-cut through-slot allows you to attach or remove the bobber instantly without cutting your line, and the included locking and sliding screws let you switch easily between fixed-depth and slip-bobber fishing. Designed for both active casting and passive fishing, the reel includes dedicated lanyard points on both the top cap and end cap. You can attach a wrist lanyard for active use or anchor the reel to a tree branch for a set-and-forget setup. Securing your line for passive use is as simple as threading it through the spool gaps and screwing the top cap down tightly to prevent unwanted unspooling. When moving between spots, the fast-pack design lets you collapse the rig in seconds. Remove the bobber, store your hooks and bait inside their respective containers, and screw the caps tight to prevent pocket tangles. For casting, you can use a quick flick in tight brush, a gentle toss for delicate live bait, or a centrifugal lasso technique for open-water distance. When retrieving a catch, turn the reel with one hand while guiding the line back onto the spool with the other, using the reel angle to manage drag manually. This model prints cleanly without supports, and a pre-configured 3MF file is included. Ensure your bed adhesion is properly dialed in for the threaded sections, and consider printing the bobber cap in a translucent or clear filament to let LED light shine through. For best results, use a thin, flexible line around 0.10mm to 0.12mm to minimize stiffness and prevent tangles.
