The M1083 FMTV Cargo Truck is a 6×6 tactical transport vehicle developed for the U.S. military’s Family of Medium Tactical Vehicles program. Designed to carry personnel, equipment, supplies, and mission-specific cargo, the M1083 is one of the core logistics platforms of the FMTV vehicle family. This version features the **Standard Cab configuration**, giving the model the characteristic original FMTV cab profile. It is intended to remain clearly distinguishable from armored or alternative cab variants that may be offered separately. The model was created primarily for **HO 1/87 scale** military layouts, logistics convoys, transport scenes, dioramas, collections, and tabletop displays. Exterior components, chassis details, cargo-bed structures, wheel geometry, cab elements, and other recognizable features have been modeled to preserve the overall appearance of the real vehicle at miniature scale. It can be resized for other common modeling scales using the following percentages: * 1/72 scale: 120.8% * 1/64 scale: 135.9% * 1/48 scale: 181.3% * 1/35 scale: 248.6% When reducing or enlarging the model, minimum wall thicknesses and small details should be reviewed according to the capabilities of your printer. ### Settings and Manufacturing Instructions For the best surface quality and preservation of small exterior details, resin printing is recommended. Suggested resin printing settings: * Layer height: 0.03–0.05 mm * Use supports beneath the chassis, wheel areas, cargo-bed structures, mirrors, and other overhanging components * Angle larger components slightly to reduce suction forces and visible layer lines * Use medium supports for structural areas and light supports for small details * Wash and cure the printed parts according to the resin manufacturer’s instructions For FDM printing: * Use a well-calibrated printer * Recommended nozzle size: 0.2–0.4 mm * Recommended layer height: 0.08–0.12 mm * Print slowly for improved detail quality * Supports may be required beneath the chassis, bumpers, cargo bed, and other overhanging parts Printing results may vary depending on the printer, material, scale, orientation, support strategy, and slicer settings.
