KAST started as a simple DIY project: creating a small dedicated device to help with counting knitting rows. Demonstration: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/3yuL7Apywl4 The first version proved that the concept worked, but real-world usage revealed several things that could be improved. KAST v1.1 is the result of those improvements. Changes compared to the first version: redesigned enclosure; improved button placement; standard 22 mm watch strap compatibility; improved wearable design; better internal component arrangement; updated overall appearance. The device is based on the Waveshare ESP32-S3-LCD-1.69 development board and includes: ESP32-S3 microcontroller; integrated display; battery-powered operation; physical buttons; custom 3D printed enclosure. All CAD files are provided so you can: print your own version; modify the design; use the enclosure as a base for your own ESP32 projects.
