Boost Me (for free) Thanks for your support! Boost My intention was to create a fidget toy with a ratchet wheel that feels similar to a volume control knob. I achieved this with a special spring mechanism without additional components such as magnets etc. For further possibilities there are 2 more freely rotating axes. Assembly: - Position the spring. I recommend lubricating the spring with grease so that the mechanism sounds quieter and feels softer. It works well with standard PLA and PLA+. You get a sligtly stronger detent with PLA+. - Position the centre wheel - Put the 3 wheels together - Add the centre axle (the little supports must be removed first) See also the exploded view in the photo gallery Check whether all moving components can rotate freely. If not, some reworking may be necessary. It may be that the component in which the spring is located cannot be turned at first. In this case, turn it strongly when assembled to release the blockage. Add some glue if the click connections do not hold. Print Settings if you not use the Bambu Studio print profiles: - 15% Infill - 3 Walls - 0,2mm layer height - The spring has to be print with the wall generator “Arachne”. If you print in classic, the thickness will be not correct! - Both axis parts should be print with small support to get a better surface: Tips: - Z-seams or unclean print areas should be treated with a knife in the area of the axles so that all wheels can be turned as well as possible. - You can press the spring with your fingers if the detent is too strong. - When you stop using the toy, relax the spring so that the wheel with the ratchet function has a little play.
