Introducing Mechanical Desk Calendar, a mechanical desk calendar built entirely from 3D printed parts and engraved with the Laser Pecker. Three concentric discs cycle through 31 days, 12 months, and 7 weekdays, each held in place by hidden printed springs that deliver a crisp click at every notch. The frame prints in matte white, the discs in matte black, and the engraved numerals stand out like burned-in marks against the dark plastic. Design & Concept: I designed this calendar to bring an analog ritual back to the desk. Every morning a single click advances the day, and the springs you cannot see do all the satisfying work. The case ships as a tuned 3MF with speed and layer-height adjustments already configured along the height interval of the outer shell, so the slicer eliminates the usual transition band and produces a smooth, monolithic surface straight off the bed. The numerals, month abbreviations, and weekdays are then engraved on the assembled discs with the Laser Pecker, burning crisp marks straight into the matte black plastic for a permanent finish that holds the look year after year. Key Features: Mechanical Click Action: Three concentric discs rotate one notch at a time with a crisp tactile click, driven entirely by 3D printed springs. Engraved Numerals: Every digit, month abbreviation, and weekday is engraved with the Laser Pecker, leaving a permanent white-on-black finish. Multicolor Indicator: A pre-configured multicolor 3MF marks the active day, printed in matte black and matte white for a clean two-tone accent. Seamless Two-Tone Aesthetic: A matte white frame paired with matte black discs and crisp engraved numerals, a high-contrast object that reads as both modern and timeless. Tuned 3MF for a Smooth Shell: The included 3MF carries speed and layer-height adjustments along the height interval of the outer case, eliminating the visible transition band and keeping the surface seamless. Daily Ritual Design: Built to reward a single morning click, turning date-keeping into a small tactile habit. Blank Discs Option: If you prefer to engrave your own numerals, weekdays, or month abbreviations from scratch, open the discs in your slicer and set the color of the numbers to match the color of the disc body. The painted numerals will disappear, the discs will print fully blank, and you can burn any layout you want straight onto them with the Laser Pecker. Assembly: Print the case in matte white, and the three discs, springs, and indicator in the recommended materials. Engrave the numbers 1 to 31, the twelve month abbreviations, and the seven weekdays onto the three discs using the Laser Pecker. Fit three printed springs into each disc to enable the click detent.
