Beskrivelse
I am a retired software engineer that likes to design fun and useful things to share with people. My interests include Model Aviation (everything from advanced quad-copters to simple stick and tissue free flight), woodworking, crafts, gardening and music. Most of my prints are to help support these activities in one way or another. Usually not by a printable thing, but more often with tools to make things out of lighter or more durable materials or to extend the capabilities of some existing tool. I've been using Fusion 360 lately, but I really want to support free and open source tools like OpenSCAD and FreeCAD. I like OpenSCAD especially because I think its a really good functional programming environment. Where it falls down is that you generally have to define things like chamfers and fillets first, and most of my designs start with defining the basic 3D shape with chamfer, fillets and holes added at the very end. These features often break the design if you go back and make changes to the basic shape as edges and surfaces merge or disappear. I want to like like FeeCAD as an alternative to this rental model for software, but unfortunately Fusion360 is currently locked in "muscle memory". Also, I like to use Python to "automate the boring stuff". Both FreeCAD and Fusion360 support this. I've used a link to my GitHub page as we "website" in case you'd like to see some of my more software related projects.
